Embraced by the chill
Of the coming snow
Wind rushes across my skin
Through my veins.
It’s cold, I feel it
Beneath my jacket
Beneath my skin.
It settles in my chest
Like a crystal
Radiating frozen rays
Inside the circle of itself.
A cold, nestled
Within the warmth
Of my pulse
Suspended by air
Surrounded by warmth
But still ice.
